Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

My studio is located just minutes away from Hartman Creek State Park in the beautiful Chain O' Lakes, Wisconsin. It's about a 30 minute drive from Stevens Point and a 45 minute drive from Appleton. If you are driving in, enjoy the scenery!

Do you travel to other locations?

Yes, I travel for sessions anywhere within the US. Contact me for pricing and availability.
Session destinations within an hour-drive of my studio are included in the Session Retainer.

Can I be in the photos? Can I have more than one pet per session?

Yes and yes. I don't set a limit for a portrait session, but there may be some special considerations to planning a session with a lot of humans or several animals. We'll sort it out at your Creative Consultation.

What if my dog isn't well-trained, or is anxious/shy, can we still get good photos?

No worries. Really! Don't let your dog's exuberance or shyness prevent you from booking a session. Most dog portraits are done on-leash - your dog will be comfortable having you near, and I have long lenses that will allow me to give your dog space if they are the shy type. I'll take the leash out during the editing process so it won't detract from your pooch's personality.

This is where my background in training and working with animals comes into play - there's no need to rush and we'll do whatever we can to make the process easy, fun, and stress-free.

What if I have a large animal / livestock / exotic pet?

I can't think of any animal I would turn away. I've even done portraits of spiders! From horses and cows, to lizards and snakes, chinchillas and pet rats, I'm willing to try just about anything.

Do you offer digital-only packages?

Yes and no. You'll receive a free digital copy of any printed image purchased. You are welcome to decline the printed version of any image(s).

Why? We all know how digital images fill up our device memory and cloud storage, and how many of those never get printed or enjoyed despite our best intentions. I don't want your pet portrait investment to suffer the same fate.

Worse yet, what happens when that digital media full of files becomes obsolete? Think floppy disks, CDs, and even DVDs. Trust me on this one, you'll enjoy them far more on your walls or coffee table than on a hard drive or USB stick.

Do you offer payment plans?

I do! Interest-free payment plans are available on orders over $1500 and can be customized to fit your budget.

What happens if the weather is bad?

No worries, I offer one free reschedule for any reason.
